That is my rank on Technorati.com

How sad is that? At one point I was as high as 800k and something. Now I have slumped to the bottom. I feel as if it must be a reflection on the crappness that is my blog. Yes I used two Ps there.

My Authority ranking is the lowest, a 1. A ONE!!! uggg.

Good thing I write this blog just for me! (ok thats a little white lie, but its what I will tell myself until my rank improves).

::Fingers crossed::

P.S I read somewhere that if your posts show up in the same form in too many places technorati will think that you are a spammer… so maybe since Facebook downloads my posts and throws them on its site that is messing up my rank? Hmmm

tagged, am i really doing this?

I have been tagged! TWICE!

The Rules are: Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

1. I DVR the Food Networks “Next Star” reality tv show, Modern Marvels, The Traveler, Grays Anatomy, and the Last Comic Standing. I love DVR “ing”, its the best thing since Canada Dry Ginger Ale.

2. I enjoy eating ham sandwiches with potato chips on them. This also works well with tuna fish sandwiches and even burgers. ( am currently eating one of these sandwiches as I type this )

3. I’m a dork, I know this and I tell those around me often. What this really means is that I like some dorkish things, subject matters if you will. I am not actually a Dork. Thank you

4. I consistently crack my back / spine / neck / fingers and sometimes my chest and secretly fear I will be too stiff to move by my 35th birthday.

5. I am in a semi-large amount of credit card debit that has accumulated through travel, unemployment, dental work, a few bad choices and tons of crack… ok ok   , no crack was involved, but it just sounded cool. This debt will be eliminated within 6 months at which point I will eat an entire pizza to celebrate, this act will be followed quickly by the arrival of 34.7 new credit card offers in my mail box.

6. I would like to live in DC or NYC in a big open loft with a refrigerator filled with vitamin water, pizza, chicken, and steak. A huge TV and amazing sound system. I will referred to this place as my crib and host gatherings of like minded individuals that want to discuss politics and why my father thinks the existence of global warming is still up for debate.

7. I just finished reading a book thats 616 pages long - its a door stop for sure. Its called “the last ship” you should check out it out, if you like post apocalyptic stores ( I dig them in a hardcore fashion ) Can you recommend any others?

8. The iphone looks cool but I’m actually not as pressed to buy it as I thought I would be. I enjoy my blackberry. As I write these 8 things I feel obligated to mention I am on an old iBook in the middle of WV in a cabin with a DSL connection.

BONUS: Sometimes I think the world is going to go to crap faster than we can handle and that it would be really swell to have a nice cabin like this one out in the middle of no where with enough food & water to live out a small catastrophic event…. Does that make me weird?

I would be happy to tag 8 others but I dont think I even have that many on my blogroll so I’ll just randomly find 8 blogs and do it that way. Cheers.

slob lady

I was driving home a couple of days ago when I pulled up to a light. There were several cars in front of me including a small red ford escort. As I came to a stop I noticed a piece of orange paper came through the drivers’ side window of that red escort. At first I thought maybe the paper had been “blown” out, that a gust of wind had grabbed the paper and ripped it from the confines of the car. However upon further thought I concluded that such events really only occur when your vehicle is in motion and the windows are down. Additionally on top of this fact there was an odd absence of any wind that would be capable of such actions. With these two thoughts put together and the sight of her hand coming back into the car I realized the woman had thrown the piece of paper out the car window!!! Let me repeat, this SLOB of a lady had THROWN trash, a piece of paper specifically, out of her car window!

back in the states

I experienced my first THANK GOD I AM BACK IN THE STATES moment this afternoon. (shortly there after though I had a “god I miss her” moment too) ug change is never easy… anyway lets try and stay positive shall we! On to the good news…

I was on my way to the DMV to register my car (my baby thats been sitting in my parents driveway for the last 6 months) and half way there I realized I had completely forgotten my proof of insurance. Instead of having to turn around and drive all the way home I pulled into the FedEx Kinkos that was on the way and had my insurance company fax me a copy. I got it within moments and was able to get to the DMV with a 5… maybe 10 minute delay. If had turned around it would have easily cost me 20 minutes… Its not really even that big of a deal, but man it felt good to be back in a place where modern conveniences are all around us.

I see now that I took so much for granted when it came to the little things before I left for the Virgin Islands. Its not that I was just over looking them, it was more that I had always had them around and didn’t know to give them their proper value. Now that I am back I’m going to try and appreciate these conveniences more.

First hot meal at my “old man” apartment

I cooked this evening!

THATS RIGHT! I busted out a home cooked meal consiting of… um… noodles and uh…. water! OODLES OF NOODLES BABY!!

Noodles of OodlesI guess by home cooked I mean anything not nuked, and since I am without a microwave I’ll have to get use to using such primitive tools.

I also stocked my shelves this evening after work with peanut butter (but no jelly yet, they were out) two boxes of cereal (lucky charms and honey bunches of oats with strawberries) some easy mac, a chef boy r dee beefaroni can, a ravolie as well and a campbells chili thing… oh and some milk! So now I guess I am not totally deprived of food, only of healthy food.

If you have any good recipes and or ideas of things I can add to my Oodles of noodles to make them a bit less… BLAND that would be swell and oh yes, I did eat my noodles straight from the pot (see posted photo), why dirty another dish? So uh yea, leave the love.

New Casa

I moved last evening and while I didn’t exactly travel far from my previous home things are a bit different.

My new pad (not sure its pimp enough to be called a pad) is definitely bachelor all the way. Its one large room (actually its not that large) with an alcove kitchen and a separate bath. Some would describe it as old or maybe run down but I perfer to label it with more choice keywords like rustic, colorful or… full of character!

Now don’t get me wrong my new casa really isn’t that bad. It has everything I need and is actually an improvement over my last residence; (an illegal shoe box in Los Angeles where I lacked everything but a mini frig and microwave).

Here in the Virgin Islands with my only partially obstructed views of Magens Bay and the BVI’s I can enjoy a home cooked meal on my very only gas range while my pans pre-soak in the kitchen sink.

After moving my things in last evening and setting up as best I could I took a long look at my new home. After recovering from a sense of dread that set in when I realized my place resembled that of an iconic run down apartment that every old man on TV resides in alone, I decided to perk up.

So what if my place is a wee bit depressing or that I currently have only water and bologne in the frig. The important part is that its my haven, my place to relax and unwind and as long as its a safe place to crash at night and watch my hour of TV a week, I am set. It is after all only a 3 month lease - after that who knows where my shoes may fall.

I’m Lovin it!

So I recorded a radio commerical today for the few St. Thomas Virgin Islands Mcdonalds.

Its a comedic 30 second spot with a guy repeating some not so great spanish words leading up to a “Breakfast Burrito” line. Its somewhat campy but I think it will turn out well. I’ll try and post the mp3 of it if I am allowed to once I get a copy. If your in the area and want to hear it it will play on W.G.O.D, BUZZ and a few other local St. Thomas stations.

A Shocking Morning

Two females rent an apartment. They like the place, its got a great view and its in a nice part of town. The only problem is whenever they touch a light switch, a ceiling fine cord or a wall outlet they got a nasty little shock.

Doing what almost any renter would they called the land lord. Enter 3 days later at an unannouced time the repairman.

A bit of this and that, a couple screws and exposed wires later and the repairman exclaims ITS DONE! I’ve Fixed it! Then adds the subline will you see if you still get shocked. d

One unexpecting brave girl steps forward and extends her hand. A shrill fills the room. The short out is not fixed and a shock rains down.

The repairman is perplexed, how could that be? He touches the same spot repeatedly and nothing happens. Why doesn’t he feel the same shock?

A New Year

So its 2007 everyone! 3 more years till 2010 wow, another decade is almost over… I remember when everyone was freaking out about the Y2K Bug.

I am looking forward to 07, hopefully it will be a bit more fruitful for me and I’ll actually do my taxes on time this year.

There’s really no point to this blog but to apologize for lack of interesting posts and to let everyone know I intend to post more frequently.
