Man Jailed Over 50-Cent Toll.. My Hero
Thomas Jensen, 68, of Braintree, said the state broke a contract with him and everyone else who bought tokens by refusing to accept them after January of last year. He was convicted of theft of services for continuing to use tokens after they were phased out.
‘‘I gave the state of New Hampshire money for the tokens, and I expect to be able to use them,’’ Jensen told The Patriot Ledger.
Basically… Man buys tokens from state for Highway toll. State says we wont use these anymore. Many says you’ve robbed me and I’m not going to pay a dime more!
HELL YEA! This is a man who lives by principles, I respect that. Luckily he is 68 and could spare the 3 days… I on the other hand would loose hundreds of dollars by missing work… but I agree totally with his stance. Rock it out old man, rock it out!

Each place has its own advantages - heaven for the climate, and hell for the society.

Ok, I can see them phasing them out by not SELLING them anymore. But ones they’ve already sold them? Umm, shouldn’t the state accept the tender that they themselves created? Even thought they don’t sell it anymore?

Well, that was the old mans point. They should be accepted until they are used up and are no longer in circulation. Its only fair. You expect a gov agency to stand behind their own promises… I bet a private contractor was involved in this some place… sigh.
