Please read this petition and if you agree with it, please sign it.

Lets not create a two tier highway system and completely undo the small enviromental progress we have made with the current HOV system…

HOT LANES ARE NOT HOT AT ALL!

Craiglists and some creativity strike again

Situation: I’m moving
Issue: I need furniture
Problem: I am Cash poor (paid almost 2000 just to move in!)
Solution: Craigslist!

endtablebefore I found these two end tables on craigslist for $10 bucks (pretty good deal, solid wood, sturdy). How they looked than was not really my cup o tea… not really into the gold trim or the mirror inlay but when I saw the ad online the left side (thats the creative part) of my brain kicked in…

After a short trip to Home Depot and about 2 hours of labor (spread over a couple days) this is the out come. Two asain modern black zen end tables for use as night stands of in the living room.. or one in both.

endtableafterCost
Tables: $10
Paint: $7
Sandblock: $3
Velco: $5
Red Fabric $4

Total cost for 2 cool end tables I can say are one of a kind PRICELESS, HA! Actually the total was $29. Not bad…. Not bad…

Hungary Taxes Prostitution

Prostitution has been legal in Hungary since 1999. The government has zoned certain areas away from schools and churches as the stomping grounds for the worlds oldest profession however it just recently passed law that allows Prostitutes to apply for an entrepreneurial permit which will allow them to fully participate in the economy and tax system. This new step even allows for customers to receive a receipt after completing their “transaction”.

I’ve always been upfront on my views with this topic. People should live and let live. If someones actions do not hinder your freedoms then we a society have no basis to deny them the freedom to that behavior.

There are many things that I would not choose to participate in personally; however, I am able to separate my personal morals from what I think are fair playing rules for others.

Just because I wouldn’t do it does not mean it should be illegal.
Just because I would do it does not mean it should be legal.

I came up with a new quote yesterday.

Sometimes thinking only a little can be worse than not thinking at all.

P.S, QUESTION: Is that Lady with the receipt a Client or a Provider?

Former NATIONAL SECURITY Adviser Speaks out

It doesn’t get any more clear than this article. Bush and his war lover Cheney, or should I say Cheney and his following pup Bush are slowly ramping up the “rhetoric” and the atmosphere of tensions with Iran on nothing more than SUSPICION, not factual evidence. They are setting the stage and attempting to slowly raise the idea of another war with the American public. I truly hope that so much of these United States does not fall victim to such manipulation again… Sigh.

Read what Former National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski says about this Admins comments towards Iran. If there are a few people to really listen to on these issues one of them is this man, someone who’s been there done that.

For further evidence and information on how the Bush Admin is already beginning to foul this mess up with their “saber rattling” and on the proper strategy the US should be taking I urge you to read STOPIRANWAR.com co-ounded by Retired 4 Star General Wesley Clark. He’s someone I look up to and someone who is vastly more experienced in these matters than Mr. Pick a fight Bush.

WAKE UP AMERICA!

P.S I wonder how much Cheney will get this go around if hes able to offer Halliburton another no bid contract like he weased out of the Iraq conflict? 36 Million funneled to you already not enough sir?

Student Tasered by aggressive cops

Watch this CNN I-Report Video of student (Andrew Meyer) asking a series (3) of questions to Senator John Kerry at the university of Florida and I hope feelings of disgust and shock start to surface with you.

The actions of those police officers is en-excusable. Mr. Meyer spent no more than 2 minutes asking his questions, raised 3 legitimate inquires and yet was forcibly removed from the discussion. He repeated asked what he “had done” and why several officers were physically retaining him. No answer was given. When he failed to “stop asking questions” he was TASERED into submission. Now, I do not know which (if any) official asked for him to be removed or why, but clearly something went wrong here.

1) U of F says that it “prides” its self on civil debate and exchange. Obviously the officials at this event don’t because Meyers was never allowed to hear the answers Kerry was prepapred to answer.

2) As a member of the armed forces with private security experience I along with all others in these fields are taught something called the “force Continuum“. This continuum outlines the proper use of force when dealing with resisting subjects. These officers violated this central part of their training. As an example you can view this layout of a rather standard force continuum. http://www.cpso.pdx.edu/images/forcecontinuum.gif

The part that applies to this situation is listed under the Physical Control section. It lists Hair takedown, Joint Takedown, Digital Control (meaning control of the arms and legs), Joint Come-Along, Pressure Points and THEN electronic Stun Device. The police in this video clearly failed to follow anything that could be resembled as a proper escalation of force; add on top of this that the student did nothing to warrant physical police involvement to begin with and you can see how absurd this situation is.

Kerry can be heard in the background telling the police to let the student be and and that he will answer his questions but the officers are un-phased by this instruction.

Shame on the officers for acting in a such a poor manner. Does it really take 4 cops AND a taser to remove a student from a room? Absolutely not.

Shame on Kerry for not being more forceful in his instructions to the officers to release Mr. Meyer.

And lastly, shame on society for normally being such sheep to police, on not knowing our rights and on allowing official intimidation. This whole situation makes me ill and reminds me of another situation where police acted out of line. Could we please stand standing up for out rights?

Strange metor marks illness

What a strange and oddly under developed open ended story.

Apparently some people in Peru came down with some form of illness after a metorite crashed in the country side and left a 100 foot crater… locals described a “strange odor”. Hopefully the metor just poped some swamp gas bubble that was under the surface where it hit… or maybe this is the beginning of some strange alien life form… HEY you NEVER KNOW!

Man Jailed Over 50-Cent Toll.. My Hero

Thomas Jensen, 68, of Braintree, said the state broke a contract with him and everyone else who bought tokens by refusing to accept them after January of last year. He was convicted of theft of services for continuing to use tokens after they were phased out.

‘‘I gave the state of New Hampshire money for the tokens, and I expect to be able to use them,’’ Jensen told The Patriot Ledger.

Basically… Man buys tokens from state for Highway toll. State says we wont use these anymore. Many says you’ve robbed me and I’m not going to pay a dime more!

HELL YEA! This is a man who lives by principles, I respect that. Luckily he is 68 and could spare the 3 days… I on the other hand would loose hundreds of dollars by missing work… but I agree totally with his stance. Rock it out old man, rock it out!

Salt water… our new engery source?

Sea Water Burns… kinda (its actually the Salt that releases hydrogen)

It seems a gentleman named John Kanzius from Erie may have stumbled upon a world changing energy source. Combining radio frequencies and sea water has reportedly resulted in a “controlled flame” hot enough to melt test tubes. Initial reports have been confirmed by Penn State Univeristy Chemist Rustum Roy.

I can see it now… 8 years in our future we will be filling up at the Water Station. Hmmm TAKE THAT MIDDLE EAST!

Whoopi defends Vick but does so with flawed logic

Ok so Whoopi comes to the defense of NFL player Michael Vick

The problem however is that she points to Vicks up bringing and cultural background as the reason she feels why others should go easy on him. Whoopi says that in his upbringing these types of actions where never questioned — ok that might be true, but it does not provide an excuse for a 30 something year old man to break the law and abuse animals. The idea of using ones cultural upbringing as a defense of such crimes is extremely flawed.

First, I’m sure not everyone from the south is down with killing dogs and abusing animals, lets give them some credit Whoopi

Second, if we use “cultural” norms and up bringing to excuse the actions of individuals then we have to give a pass for all of the children of slave owners, all the children of racist parents, all the children of drug users, who then grow up and commit the crimes they saw their parents make. I simply don’t buy that excuse at all. As an adult, as a grown man or woman, we have the right to determine what is right and what is wrong and killing any animal in such a cruel way merely for sport and to get your gambling kicks is undeniably wrong. End of story. Grow up people and stop blaming your childhood for your short comings of character!

P.S Did I mention that I love me some Whoopi?

Bush Admin supporters should read this article

http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/05/15/ashcroft.nsa/index.html

The simple fact that the Bush admin pushed this program through without proper approval is grounds for impeachment. This group of people feel they are above the law and that makes my stomach turn.

Resignation after resignation - when will the rest of the country realize what a joke for a president we have…
